Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data AI Trends collects when you use our website and dashboard, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum needed to run the service.
Who we are
AI Trends (“we”, “us”) operates the website at aitrends.so and the dashboard application. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@aitrends.so.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and authentication credentials, handled by our auth provider (Supabase). We never see or store your password in plain text.
- Usage data — which pages and features you use, your plan, and your Trend Analysis activity and quota counts, so we can operate billing and enforce fair use.
- Analytics— privacy-respecting product analytics (via Vercel Analytics and PostHog) to understand how the product is used: pages visited, features used, and conversion through key flows. For signed-in users we associate these product events with your account so we can improve your experience and measure conversion; anonymous visitors are not personally identified. We honor the browser’s Do-Not-Track signal, and IP addresses are not stored in raw form.
- Technical data — standard server logs (browser type, timestamps) needed for security and debugging.
The market data shown in the product (products, sites, topics, and AI-referral estimates) is not your personal data — it is aggregated third-party market data. See our Data sources page for how that is produced.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To provide the dashboard, run the searches you request, and meter paid usage.
- To communicate with you about your account and service changes.
- To improve the product and diagnose problems.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers (“data processors”) that help us run the product, under contract and only for that purpose:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting and analytics.
- PostHog — privacy-respecting product analytics (pages and features used, conversion). Anonymous visitors are not personally identified; for signed-in users events are linked to the account.
- Meta— only with your consent, advertising and conversion measurement (see “Advertising and measurement” below). Meta acts as an independent controller for ads measurement.
- Payment processor — when paid billing launches, card data will be handled directly by a PCI-compliant processor; we will not store full card numbers.
We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
Cookies and consent
We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in. On our public marketing pages we also use first-party product analytics and, only with your consent, advertising and measurement cookies (Meta). A consent banner lets you accept or reject the non-essential tools, and you can change your choice at any time through your browser settings. We honor your browser’s Do-Not-Track signal for product analytics.
Advertising and measurement (Meta)
When you consent, we use the Meta Pixel (in your browser) and the Meta Conversions API (from our server) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising — for example, to know that a visit or sign-up came from a Meta ad. The two channels share a deduplication id so an action is counted once.
- Shared with Meta, hashed — where available, your email (and later phone, name, or account id) is converted to a one-way SHA-256 hash before it is sent; Meta does not receive these in clear text.
- Shared with Meta, not hashed— technical data: your IP address, browser user-agent, and Meta’s own cookies (
_fbp,_fbc). - Events — page views and sign-ups now; purchases or subscriptions later.
The legal basis in the EU/UK is your consent (which you can withdraw at any time via the banner); without consent, neither the Pixel nor the server-side measurement runs. For users in US states with privacy laws, we apply Meta’s Limited Data Use so the data is used for measurement only. Meta may process this data in the United States.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal account data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account from your account settings, or contact us at hello@aitrends.so to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
International transfers & security
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards, and we apply industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
